Mirae Asset Launches Platinum Hybrid Long-Short Fund Amid SIF Growth
Mirae Asset Mutual Fund introduces its Platinum Hybrid Long-Short Fund, part of the expanding Specialized Investment Fund (SIF) category. The New Fund Offer (NFO) will be open from May 20 to June 3, 2026, reflecting a growing interest in hybrid long-short strategies.

Mirae Asset Mutual Fund has launched the Platinum Hybrid Long-Short Fund, scheduled for subscription from May 20 to June 3, 2026. This fund is part of the rapidly growing SIF category, which saw its assets under management (AUM) increase from ₹2,010 crore in October 2025 to ₹12,329 crore by April 2026.
Nearly 74% of SIF assets are in hybrid long-short strategies, indicating strong investor preference. The fund aims to provide stable returns with controlled equity exposure of 5-70% and a debt allocation of 25-35%.
Monthly net inflows reached ₹1,219 crore in April, highlighting the SIF’s appeal to affluent investors seeking alternatives to traditional mutual funds. The fund is managed by Gaurik Shah, focusing on quantitative and derivative-driven strategies. The expansion of SIFs could indicate a shift in investor behavior towards more flexible investment structures.
