Missoula County Pursues EPA Grant for Wye Infrastructure Development
Missoula County is exploring eligibility for an EPA grant to address infrastructure needs in Wye, where significant housing growth is expected. The planning department proposed a letter of interest to the EPA under the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act, with a decision anticipated in spring. The Wye Infrastructure Plan aims to develop 15,000 new homes and 7.7 million square feet of industrial space over 50 years, promoting high-density development and improving public services, including a wastewater treatment facility.

The planning department submitted a letter of interest to the EPA under the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act, with a response expected this spring.
The Wye Infrastructure Plan aims for 15,000 new homes and 7.7 million square feet of industrial space over 50 years, necessitating a public wastewater treatment facility to support growth. The private sector, including Grass Valley Industrial, is also developing a water system for the area, with $5.3 million in tax increment financing approved by the county.
