Mitsubishi Fuso Achieves Carbon Neutrality at Japanese Plants by 2025
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation has confirmed carbon-neutral status for its four Japanese plants. Achieved through renewable energy, solar generation, and carbon credits, this milestone underscores ongoing efforts in industrial decarbonization.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) has achieved carbon-neutral status for its four Japanese production facilities, meeting a target set for 2025. This achievement involved renewable energy procurement, solar energy generation, and the use of carbon credits to offset residual emissions.
The facilities include the Kawasaki Plant, Nakatsu Plant, Mitsubishi Fuso Bus Manufacturing, and PABCO's Sagami Plant. Significant CO₂ reductions of over 20% compared to 2015 levels were recorded at the Kawasaki and Nakatsu locations before they transitioned to renewable electricity in 2022. MFTBC's future sustainability efforts will focus on continuing emission reductions, as vehicle use-phase emissions remain an ongoing industry challenge.
