Modeling Cogeneration-Based Hybrid Energy System for Building with TRNSYS
The project focuses on a cogeneration-based hybrid energy system for a building, integrating micro gas turbine, photovoltaic, and wind energy sources along with energy storage solutions. The micro gas turbine operates in load-following mode, providing electricity and heat recovery for domestic hot water.
Solar thermal collectors and an auxiliary boiler support thermal needs. The system incorporates electrical battery storage and a thermal hot-water tank. The study will assess the impact of this integration on meeting electrical and thermal demands, fuel consumption, and grid interaction.
TRNSYS will be used for modeling, enhanced by previous projects on PV and storage systems. Annual simulations will utilize realistic weather data.
