MOL and JERA Forge Agreements for Large-Scale Low-Carbon Ammonia Transport

MOL and JERA have signed agreements to collaborate on the development of a commercial-scale value chain for low-carbon ammonia, following discussions that began in November 2022. This project aims to meet the anticipated significant demand for ammonia as a fuel for power plants and ships, as well as its role as a hydrogen carrier. Additionally, in October, MOL entered into a memorandum of understanding with NH3 Clean Energy and Oceania Marine Energy to develop clean ammonia bunkering operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
