Moldova Secures 360 mcm of Gas for 2026-2027 Heating Season
Moldova's Energocom has contracted 360 million cubic meters of gas for the 2026-2027 heating season, covering 76% of its forecasted demand. This procurement is part of a broader strategy to enhance energy security amid shifting European gas dynamics.

Energocom has finalized contracts for approximately 360 million cubic meters of natural gas to ensure supply during the heating season from October 2026 to March 2027. This amount represents 76% of the total gas required for the 2026-2027 gas year.
The procurement involved 24 tenders with participation from 11 companies across several European nations, ensuring transparency in the process. Additionally, Energocom plans to secure a gas reserve of 134.5 million cubic meters by November 1.
The emergence of the Vertical Gas Corridor and increased offshore production in Romania could further influence regional gas dynamics. Romania's expected production increase may lead to surplus gas, which could be strategically directed toward Ukraine's storage facilities, enhancing regional energy security.
