Montage Technology has commenced trial production of its CXL 3.2 Memory eXpander Controller (MXC) chip, addressing memory expansion needs in AI and cloud computing. Supporting PCIe 6.x and CXL 3.2 protocols with data transfer rates up to 64 GT/s, the MXC integrates dual DDR5 controllers and a PCIe 6.x PHY.
It accommodates various expansion form factors and is compatible with leading server platforms including Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC. Already integrated into products by Samsung and SK hynix, the MXC chip enhances memory capacity and resource utilization. This innovation reflects a significant step in the CXL ecosystem's growth, responding to the evolving demands of AI workloads and next-gen data center architectures.
