Montour County Approves Data Center Ordinance Amendments
Montour County commissioners have amended data center regulations, setting height limits and increasing setback distances from sensitive areas. This change aims to enhance community safety and environmental considerations in the zoning of data centers.

The Montour County commissioners have approved amendments to the data center ordinance, establishing a height cap of 45 feet, with an additional 15 feet for equipment, and increasing the required setback from sensitive receptors to 1,000 feet. The legal process for the ordinance requires a 30-day advertisement period and a public hearing before final approval.
Additionally, the commissioners renewed the Columbia County Inmate Boarding Agreement at a rate of $65 per day for the upcoming year. A Tourism Fund Grant Application was denied due to insufficient details presented.
The county also issued a proclamation for Community Action Month. These developments reflect ongoing efforts to balance economic growth with community standards.
