The Moray West offshore wind farm, operational since 2025, has an installed capacity of 882 MW, sufficient to supply energy to 1.3 million homes. Developed by Ocean Winds, a partnership of EDP Renewables and Engie, this project complements the 950 MW Moray East project.
Construction occurred from February 2023 to April 2025, featuring 60 Siemens Gamesa 14-222 DD turbines with a capacity of 14.7 MW each. The project utilized innovative technologies such as CAPE Vibro Lifting Technology for monopile installation and involved collaboration among various contractors including FoundOcean, which provided grouting services. The integration of these technologies and expertise is crucial for the ongoing advancement of offshore wind energy projects, emphasizing the importance of industry collaboration.
