Morehouse College has received a $5 million grant from the National Science Foundation to support its participation in a $457 million research initiative led by the Texas Advanced Computing Center. This project aims to construct an advanced supercomputer, Horizon, at the Morehouse Center for Broadening Participation in Computing.

The initial funding will facilitate the development of a dedicated data center as part of the NSF's Leadership-Class Computing Facility. As a primary partner, Morehouse will serve as a national hub for various programs, including enrichment and AI initiatives, while sharing research progress at the InSPIRE Workshop in Austin, Texas.
