Motiv Space Systems and PickNik Robotics are collaborating on software development for NASA's Fly Foundational Robotics (FFR) mission. This mission aims to enhance on-orbit robotic manipulation capabilities and support broader In-space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing objectives.

Motiv is responsible for the robotic system, while PickNik will deliver motion planning and control software based on MoveIt Pro, and support integration with Astro Digital. Key deliverables include a flight runtime configuration and a ground-based operator terminal.

The partnership emphasizes simulation, testing, and operational tooling to ensure mission readiness. Space ROS will be utilized to align with aerospace software standards, fostering the development of modern robotics practices for future missions.
