Mozambique and South Korea Launch Nkantha Photovoltaic Power Plant Project
The Nkantha Photovoltaic Power Plant in Mozambique, funded by South Korea, aims to enhance rural electricity access with a budget of $12 million. Construction, managed by Mozambique's Energy Fund, is expected to be completed in eight months, benefiting over 1,200 households.

The Nkantha Photovoltaic Power Plant project, budgeted at approximately $12 million, has commenced with the laying of its first stone in Tete province. Funded by the South Korean government through the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology (KIAT), the initiative aims to provide electricity access to over 1,200 households in rural areas.
Construction will last eight months under the management of Mozambique's Energy Fund (FUNAE). The project stems from a February agreement between Mozambique and South Korea, enhancing bilateral relations while addressing local energy needs. The project is anticipated to have significant socio-economic benefits, particularly in education and health sectors.
