MPK Poznań Expands Hydrogen Bus Fleet with Nine New Solaris Urbino 12 Vehicles
MPK Poznań is set to add nine hydrogen-powered Solaris Urbino 12 buses to its fleet, joining 25 already in operation. The new buses will feature advanced fuel cells that convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity, powering electric motors for emission-free operation. This initiative is part of a project funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a budget of 99,475,000 PLN aimed at reducing the use of fossil fuels in public transport.

MPK Poznań is increasing its hydrogen bus fleet by nine Solaris Urbino 12 vehicles, complementing 25 existing units. The new buses will use modern fuel cells to generate electricity from hydrogen and oxygen, ensuring silent, emission-free operation with water vapor as the only byproduct.
Each bus will also include a Solaris High Power battery to assist fuel cells during peak energy demand. This acquisition is part of a project to reduce fossil fuel usage funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with an allocated budget of 99,475,000 PLN.
