MSME Ministry Launches Initiatives for Energy Efficiency and Green Transition in Small Enterprises
The MSME Ministry is implementing initiatives to support small businesses in energy-saving projects and sustainable practices. Key programs include the MSME Sustainable (ZED), MSME Competitive Lean, MSE-GIFT, and MSE-SPICE schemes, offering financial assistance and consultancy for technology upgrades. The ZED framework provides up to ₹2 lakh consultancy support and ₹3 lakh for upgrades. The MSE-GIFT scheme offers 2% interest subvention, while MSE-SPICE provides a 25% capital subsidy. Additionally, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency's ADEETIE scheme promotes energy-efficient technologies with interest subventions and technical assistance.

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is introducing several programs to assist small businesses in achieving energy efficiency and transitioning to greener practices. Key initiatives include the MSME Sustainable (ZED) and MSME Competitive Lean components of the MSME Champion Scheme, as well as the MSE-GIFT and MSE-SPICE schemes.
Under the ZED framework, up to ₹2 lakh is provided for consultancy, and ₹3 lakh for technology upgrades. The MSE-GIFT scheme offers a 2% interest subvention for energy-efficient investments, while MSE-SPICE provides a 25% capital subsidy for circular economy practices. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency is also implementing the ADEETIE Scheme, which offers 3-5% interest subvention and technical support across 14 energy-intensive sectors.
