MTC and Loughborough University Collaborate on Hydrogen-Compatible Manufacturing Systems
Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) has partnered with Loughborough University to develop hydrogen-compatible manufacturing systems for aerospace, automotive, and power generation. The initiative is part of EnerHy, an engineering doctoral training centre focused on hydrogen technologies.
The research will improve the reliability, efficiency, and safety of hydrogen machinery, addressing barriers such as hydrogen embrittlement and thermal contraction. Activities will be centered at Loughborough's Wolfson School and conducted at MTC's Ansty Park facilities. The project includes a fully funded doctoral research position for eligible UK candidates, aiming to provide advanced manufacturing solutions for hydrogen systems.
