Muhlenberg, Ohio Implements One-Year Moratorium on New Data Centers Amid Local Concerns
DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Muhlenberg, Ohio, has imposed a 12-month moratorium on new data center developments after residents raised concerns about a proposed data center and power plant by Pacifico Energy. The plan, which sought rezoning approval on London Road, faced significant opposition, evidenced by a petition with over 700 signatures.
Local trustees announced the moratorium to align zoning regulations and await outcomes from state legislation, including House Bill 646 that proposes a data center commission. No developments will proceed until February 3 of next year.
