Mulberry Waste Holdings Acquires Ecobat Solutions to Enhance Battery Recycling Capacity
Mulberry Waste Holdings has acquired Ecobat Solutions, reinforcing its role in the UK hazardous waste sector and advancing into lithium-ion battery recycling. The acquisition aims to support the circular economy and improve resource management in response to regulatory and market demands.
Mulberry Waste Holdings has acquired Ecobat Solutions, which operates a facility in Darlaston specializing in battery dismantling and lithium-ion recycling with a target capacity of 15,000 tonnes. This acquisition integrates Mulberry's hazardous waste expertise with Ecobat's capabilities, enabling the recovery of critical materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel.
With Ecobat generating over £20 million in annual revenue and employing 115 staff, the deal positions Mulberry to meet the growing demand for sustainable waste solutions and aligns with the UK's push for on-shore recycling infrastructure. As the sector evolves, this move could significantly enhance competitiveness amid increasing regulatory requirements.
