Nagaland Unveils Eliona AI Supercomputer for Climate and Disaster Management
Nagaland has launched Eliona, an AI-driven supercomputing platform aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and climate resilience. This initiative under the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) marks a significant technological advancement in predictive disaster intelligence.

Eliona, an AI-native Climate and Disaster Intelligence Supercomputing Platform, was launched by Nagaland's Advisor for NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, at the Nagaland Centre for Disaster Management and Atmospheric Research in Kohima.
The supercomputer is designed to facilitate weather modeling, disaster analytics, and geospatial risk assessment, transitioning disaster management from reactive to predictive intelligence. It aims to provide near real-time weather predictions, hazard modeling, and climate anomaly detection.
This platform is expected to enhance disaster risk financing and community preparedness initiatives, addressing Nagaland's specific challenges such as heavy rainfall and seismic activity. The deployment of Eliona could significantly improve the state's capacity for timely disaster response and resilience.
