Namibia Collaborates with China to Enhance Renewable Energy Capacity
Namibia's Green Hydrogen Programme is leading a technical delegation to China aimed at advancing renewable energy technologies. This initiative supports Namibia's transition from energy importer to a self-sufficient green energy economy by engaging with major companies like Goldwind and Envision Energy.

A delegation from Namibia, supported by the Global Wind Energy Council, is visiting China to enhance renewable energy technology capacity. The group includes representatives from the Namibia Power Corporation and the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy, focusing on areas such as wind energy, solar solutions, and battery storage.
The engagement with companies like Goldwind coincides with Namibia's 44-megawatt wind farm project near Lüderitz, showcasing direct international collaboration. Namibia aims to increase renewable energy's share from 54% to 70% by 2040, necessitating technology transfer and investment. The delegation's insights are expected to inform strategies for scaling renewable generation and developing cleaner industrial value chains.
