Namibia Considers Tax Exemptions for Green Hydrogen Equipment
The Namibia Revenue Agency is exploring tax exemptions for equipment used in green hydrogen projects, aiming to support sector growth. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to facilitate development and infrastructure improvements in the country.

The Namibia Revenue Agency, through its Regional Manager Patrick Tongo, has proposed tax exemptions for specific equipment and components related to green hydrogen (GH2) projects. This consideration was discussed during a stakeholder engagement meeting in Walvis Bay, focusing on customs and excise regulations for imports and exports.
Tongo emphasized the agency's role in revenue collection while also supporting the country's developmental agenda, which includes infrastructure projects. The potential for tax relief aims to encourage investment in the GH2 sector, paving the way for new industries and critical infrastructure development.
