Namibia Invites Chinese R&D Partnerships for Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Industries
The Namibian government is seeking partnerships with China for R&D in green hydrogen and ammonia. Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi announced plans to diversify trade relations, highlighting a shift from mineral exports to high-tech energy research. Starting May 1, China will implement a 'Pre-Early Harvest' arrangement with Namibia, allowing 100% duty-free access for products. This initiative aims to benefit small and medium enterprises and expand the export focus to include agricultural products and high-priority sectors.

Minister of International Relations and Trade Selma Ashipala-Musavyi announced this initiative as part of a strategy to diversify Namibia's trade relationship with China, which predominantly involves mineral exports.

This shift aims to enhance opportunities for small and medium enterprises and expand exports to include agricultural products and sectors like leather and polished diamonds.
