Namibia Partners with GWPO to Enhance Water Security and Climate Adaptation
Namibia is advancing its water security and climate adaptation strategies, including investments in alternative water sources and early-warning systems, as stated by Minister Inge Zaamwani. This initiative aligns with the signing of a headquarters agreement for the Global Water Partnership Organisation (GWPO) to establish its Secretariat in Windhoek, reinforcing Namibia's role in regional water cooperation and institutional capacity.

Namibia is enhancing its water sector through climate adaptation measures and investment in alternative sources, as explained by Minister Inge Zaamwani. This includes groundwater development and desalination to lessen dependence on rainfall.
The signing of an agreement with the Global Water Partnership Organisation (GWPO) will establish its Secretariat in Windhoek. Namibia will support the Secretariat with operational infrastructure and legal frameworks. This initiative highlights Namibia's commitment to transboundary water cooperation and reinforces its role in global water security efforts.
