Nandi County to Establish Jitume Centre of Excellence under Kenya's Digital Jobs Initiative
The Nandi County Jitume Centre of Excellence is part of Kenya's national strategy to enhance digital skills among youth. This facility aims to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and access to modern technologies, addressing the growing demand for digital employment.

The Nandi County Jitume Centre of Excellence is under construction in Nandi Hills, with an inspection conducted by the Technopolis Development Authority on August 1, 2026. This facility will include eCommerce spaces, collaborative workstations, and learning centers focusing on advanced technologies such as AI, robotics, and cybersecurity.
It is part of a broader initiative to establish a Centre of Excellence in every county across Kenya, complementing over 330 existing Jitume Digital Hubs launched since 2023. The project aims to equip youth with necessary digital skills, fostering innovation and creating job opportunities in the digital economy. With close to 30,000 devices deployed, over 100,000 youths have received training, and 91,428 have secured digital jobs, highlighting the initiative's impact on employment and economic growth.
