National Australia Bank to Close Knox Data Center in Melbourne
National Australia Bank (NAB) will close its Knox data center in Melbourne as part of its cloud migration strategy, listing the facility for sale under a sale-leaseback agreement. The bank has established contracts with major cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, and has appointed Mahya Knox to enhance its digital, data, and AI leadership team. Bids for the data center are due by August 2025.

National Australia Bank (NAB) will close its Knox data center in Melbourne as part of its cloud migration strategy. The data center, spanning 31,677 sqm with a floorspace of 28,371 sqm and a capacity of 6.5MW, is listed for sale under a sale-leaseback agreement.
Bids were due by August 2025. NAB has contracts with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure for cloud services. NAB also hired Mahya Knox from Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) to join its digital, data, and AI leadership team. CBA completed its cloud migration in Q2 2025 with assistance from HCLTech, moving over 61,000 data pipelines to AWS.
