National Gas Opens New Headquarters in Hampton, UK, with £870 Million Investment
National Gas has opened its East Region headquarters in Hampton, serving as the operational hub for its activities across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, and Suffolk. This initiative is part of an £870 million investment in the East of England over the next five years, aimed at upgrading infrastructure and fostering local partnerships.
Approximately 250 new jobs will be created, and 300 roles will be safeguarded. The upgraded Peterborough compressor station is now equipped with new turbines compatible with methane and hydrogen blends, enhancing energy security.
The investment is expected to provide apprenticeships and training opportunities, support local supply chains, and signal confidence in the region's infrastructure capabilities. The commitment reflects ongoing efforts to highlight the region's connectivity and skilled workforce.
