NEA Approves PHP 2.8 Billion in Loans for 45 Electric Cooperatives in 2025
The National Electrification Administration (NEA) approved PHP 2.8 billion in loans for 45 electric cooperatives in 2025, with PHP 1.7 billion designated for capital projects and PHP 956 million for working capital. Additionally, PHP 142.4 million was allocated for calamity loans to aid rehabilitation efforts following Super Typhoon Odette. This initiative aims to enhance the operational capabilities of cooperatives across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The National Electrification Administration (NEA) approved PHP 2.8 billion in state-funded loans in 2025, benefiting 45 electric cooperatives. Of this amount, PHP 1.7 billion was allocated for capital expenditure projects of 34 cooperatives across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Additionally, PHP 956 million was processed as working capital loans for 11 cooperatives located in various provinces, including Albay and Pampanga. The NEA also facilitated PHP 142.4 million in calamity loans for rehabilitation efforts related to damage from Super Typhoon Odette in 2021, specifically for the Janopol Mini-Hydro Power Plant in Bohol and the restoration of distribution lines for the Surigao del Norte Electric Cooperative. NEA continues to support electric cooperatives through an enhanced lending program to ensure ongoing operations.
