Nearly 4,000 Acres of Solar Farms in Planning in Republic of Ireland

In January, nearly 4,000 acres of solar farm projects are in planning in the Republic of Ireland. Ørsted Onshore Ireland Midco Ltd applied for the Greenhill Solar Farm, an 800-acre project in Cork. Engie Developments Ireland Ltd is appealing a refused 13.8MW solar farm in Inniscarra.

Lightsource Renewable Energy gained permission for a 268-acre solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System in Louth. Regnum Renewables secured a 412-acre solar farm in Louth. Cadamstown Solar Ltd sought a €41m solar project in Kildare, which was refused. Additional projects include a 70-acre solar farm in Offaly and a 549-acre farm in Killough.
