Nearly 4,000 Acres of Solar Farms in Planning in Republic of Ireland
In January, close to 4,000 acres of solar farm projects are in various stages of planning in the Republic of Ireland. Ørsted Onshore Ireland Midco Ltd submitted a planning application for the Greenhill Solar Farm, one of the largest at 800 acres in Cork. Engie Developments Ireland Ltd is appealing a refusal for a 13.8MW solar farm in Inniscarra. Other developments include Lightsource Renewable Energy's 268-acre project, Regnum Renewables' 412-acre farm, and Cadamstown Solar's €41m project in Kildare, among others.

Cadamstown Solar Ltd sought a €41m solar project in Kildare, which was refused. Additional projects include a 70-acre solar farm in Offaly and a 549-acre farm in Killough.
