Nebius Group NV Acquires Eigen AI for $615 Million
Nebius Group NV is set to acquire Eigen AI for approximately $615 million, enhancing its AI chip performance capabilities. This acquisition aims to bolster Nebius' position in the inference market as demand for AI computing services grows.

Nebius Group NV has agreed to purchase Eigen AI for around $615 million in stock and cash, marking its second acquisition in three months. This move is intended to improve the performance of chips utilized for running AI tasks, which is critical as Nebius aims to position itself as a leading player in the inference market over the next 18 months.
The company, which separated from Yandex in 2024, currently rents AI computing capacity to clients and has developed a product called Token Factory for inference tasks. With a shortage in data center capacity, Nebius is strategically reserving computing power for high-margin short-notice contracts. The acquisition aligns with Nebius' strategy to enhance its offerings and capabilities in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
