NEO, Korea Zinc, and Taesung Collaborate on Composite Copper Foils for Drone Batteries
NEO Battery Materials has partnered with Korea Zinc and Taesung to develop composite copper current collector technology for high-performance batteries aimed at drones, robotics, and micromobility. The collaboration will focus on optimizing lithium-ion battery performance, with NEO's silicon anode product complementing the new technology. The initial phase involves material development by Korea Zinc and Taesung, while NEO evaluates foils for battery prototypes. Successful production by year-end could mark a significant milestone in the Korean battery industry.

NEO Battery Materials, Korea Zinc, and Taesung are partnering to advance composite copper current collector technology for high-performance lithium-ion batteries targeting drones and robotics. The collaboration aims to enhance battery performance by optimizing composite copper foils, which reduce copper usage and improve energy density.
Under a memorandum of understanding, the partners will conduct joint research to validate foil performance and develop system-level battery prototypes. Korea Zinc and Taesung will lead material development, while NEO focuses on manufacturing and testing. Successful demonstration of these batteries by year-end could significantly impact the Korean battery industry.
