Netherlands Launches €152.5M MedTech 2035 Healthcare Initiative
The Dutch government has introduced a €152.5 million plan, MedTech 2035, to enhance healthcare and medical technology. This initiative aims to address workforce shortages and improve healthcare productivity, with a target of tenfold increase by 2050.

The Dutch government has committed €102.5 million through 2036 for the MedTech 2035 initiative, enhanced by Philips' €50 million investment. The plan focuses on the 'Hospitals of the Future' initiative, which seeks to improve healthcare productivity tenfold by 2050 by transitioning to digital and home-based care.
Invest-NL plans to invest an additional €200 million in medical technology startups, building on its previous €140 million allocation. The initiative emphasizes AI and robotics, particularly for minimally invasive procedures, aiming to create 11,000 high-tech jobs and generate an extra €5 billion in annual exports by 2035. This strategy is crucial for maintaining sovereignty in healthcare technology and reducing reliance on foreign platforms.
