New 33/11 kV Substation in Machilipatnam to Address Power Supply Issues
A new 33/11 kV substation in Machilipatnam, costing ₹6.30 crore, aims to resolve persistent low-voltage challenges. The advanced facility will enhance power quality for approximately 74,000 urban and 30,000 rural connections, with completion expected by July.

The foundation for a 33/11 kV semi-indoor electricity substation was laid in Bachupeta, Machilipatnam, with an investment of ₹6.30 crore. This substation is designed to utilize modern indoor technology and underground cabling, ensuring a reliable power supply for areas including Buttayapeta and Ramanayudupeta.
The project will alleviate pressure on existing substations, impacting around 74,000 urban and 30,000 rural power connections. Completion is anticipated by July, addressing the power demands ahead of summer. The initiative supports subsidized rates for aqua farmers and free units for specific households, enhancing local electricity management.
