The United States Antimony Corporation (USAC) has inaugurated a critical mineral mill in Radersburg, Montana, after acquiring the facility for $4.75 million. The operation will process around 800 tons of antimony ore from its Stibnite Hill mine, with the goal of producing high-grade concentrate for military specifications.
The facility is expected to create approximately 20 jobs and can also concentrate other metals, enhancing support for the state's mining industry. USAC is seeking $35.2 million from the Department of Energy to develop a hydrometallurgical refinery at the site. The mill signifies a strategic move to secure a domestic supply chain for antimony, where the U.S. military's needs are paramount, particularly given China's dominance in production.
