New Era Energy Completes Acquisition of Sharon AI's Stake in Texas Critical Data Centers
New Era Energy & Digital has finalized its acquisition of Sharon AI's 50 percent stake in Texas Critical Data Centers (TCDC), gaining full control of the data center joint venture in Ector County, Texas. The project aims for an initial capacity of 250MW, with future scalability beyond 1GW, utilizing a 438-acre site.
Following Sharon's exit, New Era partnered with Primary Digital Infrastructure to co-develop TCDC, which will include grid and behind-the-meter power generation solutions. TCDC has secured non-binding agreements with Thunderhead Energy Solutions and Mawgan Capital for 250MW of gas generation, and a Memorandum of Understanding with GlobeLink for dark fiber connectivity.
The facility's first 100MW segment is expected to be operational by December 2026. However, an investigation by Rosen Law Firm into New Era's business practices has caused a 6.9 percent decline in share price amid potential class action lawsuits from investors.
