New Forest Council to Decide on Future Use of Fawley Power Station Site

HYDROGEN

On February 11, New Forest District Council's planning committee will decide on multiple applications from Fawley Waterside Ltd concerning the former Fawley power station site. These applications seek temporary planning permission for storage use until December 31, 2027.

Current users include Earlcoate Construction, ICS, SJG, and Snoozebox. Previous approvals expired in 2025. The site is marked for a residential-led mixed-use scheme, but plans for 1,500 homes were scrapped. Fawley Green Hydrogen is preparing to submit a planning application for a hydrogen production facility on the site.
