New Jersey BPU Approves Elevate's Garden State Reliability Battery Storage Project for Grid Improvement
The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has selected Elevate Renewables' Garden State Reliability Project for the Garden State Energy Storage Program. This 150 MW / 600 MWh battery storage facility, located at the Bergen Generating Station in Ridgefield, aims to enhance grid reliability and provide power for over 100,000 homes. With a $200 million private investment, the project will create approximately 50 union jobs and help stabilize electricity rates amidst rising demand.

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has approved the Garden State Reliability Project, a 150 MW / 600 MWh battery storage facility by Elevate Renewables, as part of the Garden State Energy Storage Program aimed at deploying 2,000 MW of storage by 2030. Located at the Bergen Generating Station, the project will support New Jersey's electric grid and provide power for over 100,000 homes.
It represents a $200 million investment and is expected to create around 50 union jobs. The project will utilize existing infrastructure to minimize land impact and is backed by ArcLight Capital Partners.
