NewYork GreenCloud Acquires Buena Vista Biomass Facility in California for Carbon-Negative AI Factory
NewYork GreenCloud has acquired the Buena Vista Biomass Power facility in Ione, California, to establish its first large-scale carbon-negative AI Factory. The project will enhance the existing 18MW plant to 41MW, utilizing biomass-to-pyrolysis energy systems to provide renewable energy for AI infrastructure. This initiative, part of a broader plan to develop similar sites across the U.S. by 2028, aims to meet the rising demand for sustainable data center power solutions.

NewYork GreenCloud (NYGC) has acquired the Buena Vista Biomass Power (BVBP) facility in Ione, California, to develop its first large-scale carbon-negative AI Factory. This facility will integrate biomass-to-pyrolysis energy systems with liquid-cooled AI compute, expanding the current 18MW plant to a 41MW power plant that will supply renewable, baseload energy for AI infrastructure.
The project, led by NYGC and BucSha Energy, aims to create a scalable energy source utilizing regional biomass. Impact Capital Partners provided advisory on capital strategy for the acquisition. The redevelopment is part of a broader plan to roll out similar sites across the U.S. between 2026 and 2028, addressing the growing demand for sustainable data center power solutions.
