NextNRG Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding with A123 Systems LLC to deploy U.S.-manufactured battery energy storage systems. Announced on December 29, the MOU establishes a framework for evaluating large-scale storage opportunities using A123's battery systems.

This collaboration aims to support domestic supply chain development and avoid additional import tariffs as demand for battery storage increases. The companies plan to deploy A123's 5MWh units across NextNRG's U.S. energy projects, with A123 as a key storage technology supplier. The MOU also includes potential future cooperation for a U.S.-based manufacturing facility without requiring capital investment from NextNRG, emphasizing a domestic manufacturing approach for enhanced supply chain resilience.
