NHPC Advances Dulhasti Stage-II Hydroelectric Project in Jammu and Kashmir
NHPC Ltd. is progressing with the Dulhasti Stage-II hydroelectric project in Jammu and Kashmir, a 260 MW extension of the existing facility, with financial bids recently opened. The project, which has received environmental clearance and incorporates a Disaster Management Plan, aims to bolster regional renewable energy capacity and local employment while addressing ecological considerations. Max Infra Limited emerged as the lowest bidder at ₹882 crore among four companies.

NHPC Ltd. is advancing the Dulhasti Stage-II project, a 260 MW extension of the existing Dulhasti Stage-I, with financial bids opened on January 13, 2026. The project will integrate with other hydropower projects in the Chenab basin and is expected to generate local employment and clean energy.
The project has received environmental clearance, requires 60.3 hectares of land, and includes a Disaster Management Plan to address flood risks. Four companies submitted bids, with Max Infra Limited as the lowest bidder at ₹882 crore. The project aims to enhance regional renewable energy capacity while considering ecological impacts.
