NHPC Issues Warning Due to Rising Water Levels in Parbati River
The NHPC has alerted locals and tourists about increased water levels in the Parbati River due to dam discharge. Current and potential further discharges from the Pulga Dam may elevate risks for those near the riverbanks.

The National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) warns that the Parbati River's water level is rising due to approximately 30 cumecs of water being released from the Pulga Dam, increasing total discharge to around 57 cumecs. Authorities advise the public, including tourists and workers, to maintain a safe distance from the riverbanks.
If inflows continue to rise, more water may be released, further elevating risks. Precautionary measures include hooters and public announcements to alert nearby residents. The warning extends to hotel operators and taxi drivers to ensure safety during this period.
