HYDRO POWERENERGY STORAGEFLOW CONTROL
Nidec Conversion and Rolls Royce are involved in Lithuania's 291 MW/582 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for Ignitis Group, set to be fully operational by 2027. This project, spanning three sites, is significant for the Baltic region and aims to stabilize the grid as renewable energy grows.
Nidec is supplying its Power Unit, which integrates a PCS cabinet, transformer, and Medium Voltage switchgear in a compact design. Rolls Royce will provide mtu EnergyPack systems, marking its largest BESS order to date. The installations will be at Kelmė and Mažeikiai wind farms and near the Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Plant.
