Niger Launches Biometric Passport and ID Card Project with 85% Completion Rate
The General Secretary of Niger's Ministry of the Interior, Ayouba Abdourahamane, inspected the biometric passport and ID card project on March 6, 2026. The initiative, in collaboration with Alitisal Aljadeed, is 85% complete, with all necessary equipment in place. The biometric ID will integrate fingerprints and physical data, costing 4,500 francs, with a goal of producing two million cards annually.
