Nigerian Army troops neutralized numerous armed bandits in operations against Bello Turji's camps in Zamfara and Sokoto states. The operation, part of ongoing efforts against banditry, began on March 20 in Kagara Forest.
Mechanical failures in combat vehicles temporarily hindered troop movement, allowing Turji's bandits to ambush the forces. The army responded effectively, resulting in several bandit casualties, while three soldiers and one DSS member were injured.
Reports of over 150 bandits drowning in a boat accident in Sokoto were dismissed as false. Meanwhile, operations in Borno and Adamawa states uncovered a burial ground and led to the arrest of terrorist collaborators.
