NipCo Achieves ₦44.4 Million Annual Savings Through JMG Solar Power Systems
NipCo Plc has implemented solar power systems at three fueling stations in Nigeria, achieving annual energy cost savings of ₦44.4 million. The installations, completed by JMG Limited, enable the stations to operate with zero reliance on grid or generator power during sunny days, covering 80-100% of their energy needs and reducing CO₂ emissions by 43.8 tonnes annually. This project highlights a scalable solution for clean energy in high-energy sectors.

NipCo Plc has transitioned to solar power systems at three fueling stations in Nigeria, resulting in annual energy cost savings of ₦44.4 million. The installations, completed between May and June 2025, were executed by JMG Limited and include advanced hybrid systems with solar arrays, lithium battery storage, and smart inverters.
The Gwagwalada, Lekki, and Mpape stations now operate with zero grid or generator power on bright days, covering 80-100% of their daily energy needs. Total solar generation across the three sites is 88,535 kWh/year, with a CO₂ emissions reduction of 43.8 tonnes annually.
Each station's specifics include: Gwagwalada - 42,450 kWh/year, savings of ₦15.6 million; Lekki - 3,635 kWh/year, savings of ₦12 million; Mpape - 42,450 kWh/year, savings of ₦16.8 million. The project exemplifies a scalable approach for clean energy in high-energy sectors.
