NITI Aayog Member Advocates India-Japan Collaboration for Mobility and Clean Energy Initiatives
V.K. Saraswat from NITI Aayog emphasized the need for India to partner with Japan in advancing mobility and clean energy at the Japan-India Mobility Summit 2026. He highlighted India’s manufacturing ambitions and Japan's technological expertise, suggesting collaboration on hydrogen mobility, smart transport systems, and next-generation vehicles. The focus on plug-in hybrid vehicles was recommended for their lower lifecycle emissions. The partnership aims to enhance traffic management, urban growth, and multimodal connectivity, leveraging digital strengths for improved transport solutions.
