Nkomati Mine Commits to 49M Energy Efficiency Campaign
Nkomati Mine has pledged to support the 49M energy efficiency initiative, aiming to reduce its energy consumption and promote sustainability. This commitment includes the development of a 1MW AC photovoltaic plant and various energy-saving measures.

Nkomati Mine, located in Mpumalanga, has joined the 49M campaign to enhance energy efficiency. The mine will invest in a 1MW AC photovoltaic plant to reduce dependence on the Eskom grid and promote independent power generation.
Additionally, Nkomati plans to implement energy-saving measures such as replacing geysers with heat pumps, installing LED lights, and optimizing operational schedules to alleviate peak energy demand. This initiative aligns with Eskom's goals to decrease electricity consumption in the mining sector, which is a significant power consumer. The mine also aims to raise awareness about energy efficiency within the local community.
