NMIS Collaborates with Diodes to Enhance Semiconductor Manufacturing Efficiency
The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) partners with Diodes Incorporated to improve semiconductor production efficiency through advanced data techniques. This initiative aims to enable in-house data science capabilities, streamlining decision-making at Diodes' Greenock facility.
The collaboration between NMIS and Diodes Incorporated focuses on enhancing manufacturing efficiency at Diodes' 24-hour wafer fabrication site in Scotland. The initiative, part of the D3M-Colab programme, equips engineers with advanced data science skills and tools, transitioning from manual processes to automated workflows.
Diodes reported a 15% year-on-year revenue growth in 2025, with Q4 revenue reaching $391.6 million, driven by demand across various markets. The initiative includes training in Python and specialized software, along with the development of dashboards for improved data accessibility.
Furthermore, the upcoming NMIS National Advanced Semiconductor Packaging and Integration Centre will bolster Scotland's semiconductor capabilities, supporting innovative technologies. The integration of AI and predictive maintenance is expected to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
