NNPC Initiates Oil Exploration and Biofuel Project in Benue State
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is set to begin oil exploration in Benue State as part of a broader initiative to increase Nigeria's oil and gas reserves. The project is expected to create significant employment opportunities and enhance revenue generation in the region.

The NNPC has mobilized for oil exploration in the Benue Trough, targeting Local Government Areas such as Makurdi and Guma. The seismic data acquisition is a step towards fulfilling the Presidential directive to explore inland basins for oil, aiming to increase reserves and revenue.
Additionally, a biofuel project is planned, which will generate approximately one million jobs and include a sugar cane plantation, a processing plant, and a cogeneration power facility. Meanwhile, the Governor of Anambra State praised Stanel Group for maintaining fuel availability at official prices during a nationwide scarcity, highlighting its commitment to service excellence amidst demand surges. The response to both initiatives indicates a significant opportunity for economic growth and community support.
