Nokia Launches Aurelis PON-Based OOBM Solution for Data Centers
Nokia has introduced Aurelis, a PON-based out-of-band management solution for data centers, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs. The platform can decrease the number of active switches by 90%, lower power consumption by over 50%, and simplify operations by 80%. It includes the Aurelis MF-2 Optical Switch, optical modems, and a management system. Automation features like zero-touch provisioning aim to streamline operations, addressing the needs of AI and cloud infrastructure.

Nokia has launched the Aurelis solution for Data Centers, utilizing PON technology to improve out-of-band management (OOBM) efficiency. The system reduces the number of active switches by up to 90%, lowers power consumption by more than 50%, and simplifies operational processes by 80%.
Key components include the Aurelis MF-2 Optical Switch, which connects thousands of devices, Aurelis Optical Modems for Ethernet conversion, and the Aurelis Command Center for management and automation. The platform supports zero-touch provisioning and AI-driven troubleshooting to reduce manual workloads. Aurelis is already deployed in over 700 enterprise networks, reflecting a shift towards fiber-based architectures in data center operations.
