Phase One of the Rehabilitation of the Norak Hydropower Plant, initiated on June 2, 2017, is set for completion on December 31, 2026. The project includes modernization of four hydroelectric units, installation of six autotransformers, and dam safety improvements.

Notable milestones include the commissioning of Hydroelectric Unit No. 1 on October 24, 2022, and Unit No. 4 on August 30, 2024. Hydroelectric Unit No. 7 was connected to the national power grid on November 15, 2025, after being completed on October 17, 2025.

Currently, Units No. 1, No. 4, and No. 7 generate a total of 375 megawatts. Rehabilitation of Unit No. 2 is ongoing, with a commissioning date projected for October 2026. Disbursements for 2025 totaled USD 35.63 million, with nearly full allocation achieved. Overall disbursements since project inception have reached USD 235.57 million, covering 71.8% of total costs.
