Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor Initiative Supported by EU Launches Feasibility Phase
The Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC), a collaboration among six European transmission system operators, has launched its feasibility phase with support from the EU, which has allocated €6.8 million for the initiative. Aimed at diversifying energy supply and enhancing security, the project completed its pre-feasibility in June 2024 and will conclude studies by early 2027, inviting stakeholder input from the hydrogen sector.

The Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC) is a collaboration of six European TSOs: Gasgrid (FI), Elering (EE), Conexus Baltic Grid (LV), Amber Grid (LT), GAZ-SYSTEM (PL), and ONTRAS (DE). The initiative, backed by the EU with €6.8 million from the Connecting Europe Facility, aims to diversify energy supply and enhance energy security.
NBHC completed its pre-feasibility in June 2024 and began the feasibility phase in 2025, with studies set to conclude in early 2027. The project invites stakeholders from the hydrogen sector to provide non-binding input for its development.
